There can be more than one explanation
A weak stream can be associated with prostate enlargement, urethral narrowing or bladder-function problems. It is not possible to distinguish these reliably from symptoms alone.
Notice what has changed
Tell the doctor about straining, stop-start flow, night-time urination and whether the bladder feels empty. Mention medicines and previous urinary procedures.
Assessment guides the next step
Urine tests, a flow test or an ultrasound assessment may be useful. Treatment is based on the cause and severity. If you are suddenly unable to pass urine, seek emergency medical care.
