Recovery advice depends on the procedure, anaesthesia and your health. Follow the instructions provided by your treating team rather than applying general advice from the internet.
Clarify practical details
Ask about medicines, activity, catheter or stent care, follow-up appointments and who to contact if concerns arise. If a stent is placed, keep its removal or exchange date written down.
Recognise when help is urgent
Severe or increasing pain, fever, inability to pass urine, heavy bleeding or feeling seriously unwell requires urgent medical assessment. Do not rely on routine appointment messaging in an emergency.
